LONG PHUNG VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT - JOO CHIAT ROAD

No one should ever get fed up with Vietnamese foods. Instead of local Singapore wok fried style of food, traditional common Vietnamese foods used to be slightly lighter than ours but not tasteless. That is not impossible to enjoy a good Vietnamese meal in Singapore nowadays, this Long Phung should be one of the best in east Singapore area.
Long Phung is not that highly exposed well-known restaurant in Singapore but at least it always get full seated in the restaurant shop especially during dinner hours. I personally visited twice and got these photos taken from different timing.

Here is some must-order one at Long Phung:

Pho - Vietnamese Noodle Soup
Few options of protein for their pho, you can choose to have pork, chicken or beef. I used to choose the chicken one and its soup was pretty fresh.
Seriously I am not fancy of any noodle soup other than curry/laksa soup base, instant noodle or Japanese ramen, I found it commonly be tasteless, it used to be too plain. But if you're same with me, I bet you can't resist from having this pho at Long Phung.
The noodle is like kueh teow type and served with chicken drumstick instead of chicken breast.
But if you dislike beansprout, you will need to stay away from this pho because it comes with plenty of beansprout.

Garlic cockles
Best cockles have to be medium-cooked, and so did it. Cockles size was not that giant but not small. I found cockles at Long Phung was not very very fresh but at least not fishy, I ordered them twice.

Spring roll
Not called to having Vietnamese food if lack of this signature Vietnamese dish. I love how the spring roll rice-paper was not that chewy, otherwise will be quite difficult in swallowing. However, the ingredients inside were normal, with prawn vegetable etc. The thing could not be left out is always the dipping sauce.

Fried spring roll
Long Phung fried spring roll wasn't wrapped with beancurd skin, it's like rice noodle net skin instead. With fried rice noodle of spring roll skin, this fried spring roll was taste much more nicer than common. This dish served with Thai style sweet chilli sauce. Never be enough to having this, 8pcs small rolls are basically for 2-3 pax.

Few points to take note before visiting Long Phung:
1. Not convenient to get there by public transport, should take cab if you're not driving,
2. Payment mode: By CASH or PAYNOW only. Even NETS is not accepted.
3. Self-seating instead of wait to be seated if there is not full.
4. Have own lavatory in the restaurant.
5. No advance table booking is allowed.
