FU KEE RESTAURANT 富记粥品 - HONG KONG

Fed up to commonly get porridge with youtiao? Here you go.
Fu Kee restaurant in Hong Kong, serve you more than 20 options of mixed porridge. Based on Hong Kong authentic trait, you are able to taste your favorite porridge with roast goose!

Since I've fall in addiction to taste Hong Kong roast goose, and this Fu Kee Restaurant has became one of my favorite restaurant in Hong Kong. It's not a grand 5 stars restaurant, but an old shopfront. The shopfront was jam-packed with local elderly the most. There were combined together with 2 shopfronts, each was small area with about 6 tables tolerated. I would prefer this kind of shopfront than restaurant especially when travel in foreign country.

Based on my own recommendation, to order item 1 & 6 is a good choice. Each portion is enough for 2 persons. As shown in above photo, the roast goose looks juicy texture and of course it was. With a layer of fat between the meat and roasted skin, plus the provided sweet sauce as well. The roasted skin was not crispy, but just like the common roasted chicken skin. It still taste very good, with more simple home-style flavor if compared to Yat Lok Roast Goose [Please click] that I shared.

The first signature porridge HKD35 is a must order, it was a pig organs mixed porridge. Hong Kong porridge is Cantonese congee, it would not be as granule clear, it is gruel texture instead. Usually this kind of gruel porridge (congee) will be more tasty in flavor.

The second porridge I had ordered he century egg with pork meat HKD35, the third item in 2nd column. Every porridge served as same big size of bowl, I was just share-eating with my sister and took one small bowl as shown in photo. Full ingredients they cooked together with porridge, it would not be cut-cost cut-ingredient style. Every pork meat slice in good taste and smooth tender, and the century eggs was not only few small pieces, but every piece in every mouthful of porridge. To eating Fu Kee porridge, no additional soy sauce added to heavily its flavor is required, they all have been flavored enough during cooking process.

Fu Kee porridge and dishes are suitable for either breakfast, lunch, tea time or dinner. Just nice Fu Kee is located at famous Hong Kong area, Mongkok. I think it would not be difficult for everyone to get chance to try it out.
